On Monday, January 19, 2026, our nation honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Local Need-to-Know:

  • Closures: Glendora City Hall, the Library, and schools (GUSD) will be closed.

  • Trash Pickup: usually delayed by one day—check your Athens Services schedule!

How to Participate: While Glendora often hosts quiet reflection, a great way to spend the day off is through service. We recommend looking into the MLK Day of Service events organized by L.A. Works (often at the Coliseum or nearby parks). It’s a powerful way to show older kids that a day off can also be a "day on" for the community.

However you choose to spend it, we hope you have a meaningful day with your family.
