January 2026 Glendora Construction Update: What Projects Homeowners Should Know
Welcome to 2026! As we settle into the new year, you might notice cranes in the sky and cones on the road. Glendora is evolving, and keeping up with current developments is key to understanding your property value.
Here is the "State of Construction" for January 2026:
1. North Glendora Reservoir Replacement (Active)
If you live in the northern foothills (near North Glendora Ave), you’ve likely seen the heavy equipment. The city is currently replacing the old bolted steel reservoir with two new welded steel tanks.
- Why it matters: This is critical for our water reliability and fire flow protection in the foothills.
- Impact: Expect construction traffic on N. Glendora Ave during weekdays.
2. Route 66 Housing Developments
The "Alisal" project (723 E Route 66) and other mixed-use developments along the corridor are nearing final completion phases. These new modern condos are bringing new residents and energy to the Route 66 corridor, shifting it from a purely commercial highway to a walkable residential district.
3. The General Plan Update (Kickoff)
This isn’t physical construction yet, but it’s the blueprint for it. The City is preparing to launch a comprehensive update to the General Plan this year. This document dictates zoning for the next 20 years.
- Homeowner Note: Watch for community meetings later this spring. This will decide where future density (apartments/condos) goes.
