What's Happening in Glendora This September
We like keeping an eye on the city's event calendar, partly because it's one of the best windows into what makes a neighborhood feel lived-in rather than just a place people commute out of. Here's what's actually on the calendar in Glendora this September, pulled straight from the city's own events directory.
The Glendora Village Farmer's Market, every Wednesday
The Village Farmer's Market runs every Wednesday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Glendora Avenue between Foothill Boulevard and Bennett Avenue — an evening market rather than a morning one, which surprises people who assume all farmers markets happen before noon. It's a weekly fixture, so it's worth building into your routine if you're new to town; you can check current vendor lineups at glendorafarmersmarket.com.
A few one-time events worth knowing about
On September 19, Citrus College is hosting a free tire recycling event in its Stadium Parking Lot from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — a genuinely useful, no-cost way to get rid of old tires responsibly if you've been putting it off. That same day, the Glendora Public Library is holding a Grandparents' Day Celebration with crafts, bingo, and a photo opportunity at the Bidwell Forum.
Also on September 19, the Glendora Community Services Foundation is holding its 6th Annual 0.5k Walk, "The Run for the Rest of Us," a 21-and-over event starting at 116 E. Foothill Blvd. with a shotgun start up Glendora Avenue to Bennett Avenue, followed by food, music, and ice cream. It's a lighthearted, community-fundraiser version of a race — more social gathering than athletic event.
Ongoing programs at the library
The Glendora Public Library runs a steady rotation of programs worth knowing about if you have kids or teens, including a Youth Advisory Board for teens starting September 15, a Teen Idea Lab for ages 10 and up starting September 17, and an English Language Conversation Club that meets at Glendora Gardens Senior Living starting September 21. There's also an All Abilities Club, a monthly program for adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities and their caregivers, also starting September 21.
Why we track this kind of thing
Buyers relocating into Glendora often ask us what daily life actually looks like here, beyond the listing photos and school ratings. A city's event calendar is one of the more honest answers to that question — it tells you whether a place has an actual civic and community rhythm, or just exists as a collection of houses. Glendora's calendar stays fuller than a lot of comparably sized cities we've worked in, which is part of why we like recommending it.
If you're weighing a move to Glendora and want a feel for what life here is actually like month to month, we're glad to share what we've learned from years of living and working in this community — no pressure, just an honest conversation.
