Glendora Road Works

If you are wondering why you see so many "Road Work Ahead" signs this month, you aren't imagining it. January is a prime month for municipal infrastructure work in Southern California.

Why January?

  1. Budget Cycles: Halfway through the fiscal year, the City assesses the budget and pushes to complete "Capital Improvement Projects" (CIP) before the fiscal year ends in June.
  2. The Weather: While we do get rain, the cooler temperatures are ideal for heavy labor that is dangerous in our 100-degree summers.

What’s Happening Now (Jan 2026):

  • Cypress Water Street Improvements: This project, designed throughout 2025, involves upgrading aging water mains and repaving streets in the Cypress neighborhood. If you live there, expect temporary water shut-offs (you will get a door hanger notification!).
  • Pavement Management: The city’s "slurry seal" trucks are out. This preventative maintenance seals cracks to prevent winter rains from creating potholes.

Team Ibrahim Tip: Check the City of Glendora Public Works website on Monday mornings. They post the weekly construction zones so you can plan your school run accordingly.
